ICTS and its clients thank Senator Mitch Seabaugh for co-sponsoring SB 507! Print E-mail

Georgia State AssemblySenate Bill 507 is currently being read for the second time by the Georgia Senate after a Senate Committee “favorably reported” on it back to them!  This bill, if enacted, will really make the approval and prior authorization process for our clients with Medicaid much simpler again!  Additionally, in its current form, if this bill passes, the number of units of therapy that a child would be entitled to (they would have to be medically necessary, of course) would return to previous levels, doubling from where they are now.  This legislation would not only affect children covered by the CIS program, but would require the CMO’s to “play by the same rules”. This is very exciting, and much needed.  Please check your Senator’s website and find out if they are co-sponsoring the legislation.  If they are, thank them!  If they’re not, ask them why not!

To find out more about the legislation, you can read the full Bill (quick read, only a few pages long) by following this link: http://www.legis.state.ga.us/legis/2007_08/sum/sb507.htm .  For our Coweta, Carroll, Heard and Troup county families,  if you haven’t done so already, please take a moment to write or call Senator Seabaugh’s office to thank him for co-sponsoring legislation that will positively benefit so many of our special needs children!  Senator Seabaugh’s website is: http://www.legis.ga.gov/legis/2007_08/senate/seabaughbio.php.
