How do I get started?

The best place for you to start is to call your child’s primary care physician and tell them about your concerns. Tell them that you’re interested in getting an Evaluation from ICTS for either Occupational Therapy (OT) or Speech Therapy (sometimes both). If your doctor feels it is appropriate for your situation, then they should write you a prescription for whichever discipline you’re interested in (OT or Speech) for an Evaluation and Treatment. Please be sure to ask them to include a diagnosis code on the prescription… we can’t file a claim with your insurance company without a diagnosis code. If we get a prescription without a diagnosis code, we will have to get one from the physician because our therapists are not allowed to diagnose conditions. They can fax it to our office to get you started, but you will need to pick up the original and bring it with you when you come to your initial appointment.

After speaking with your doctor, you should contact our office to speak with one of our staff so that we can exchange all of the vital information (name, address, date of birth, insurance information, etc.). As a courtesy, we will attempt to contact your insurance company to help you identify your benefits for our services and give you an idea of what you may be expected to pay for our services. There are lots of variables when it comes to your insurance coverage. Individual plans vary wildly from one client to the next (sometimes even within the same employer). We will do our best to help you understand what benefits you have (because we deal with insurance companies every day), but it is ultimately your responsibility to make sure that you understand your coverage, limits and plan exclusions. To help you speed up the process at your first visit, please print out the documents provided in the links belowto the right and fill them out before your appointment. The “Privacy Practices” are yours to keep, but we will need you to bring the rest of the documents with you. If you cannot print these out and fill them out in advance, don’t worry… we’ll be happy to either mail you a copy to fill out or you can fill them out here in the office.

ICTS is “in-network” with Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, United Healthcare, TriCare Standard (not Prime) and Georgia Medicaid. We accept patients from all insurance companies, and will bill them on your behalf, but we are considered “out-of-network” providers for all insurance companies other than those listed above.
